In the Czech Republic, a change of vehicle owner is dealt with at the transport office of the municipality with extended powers. The new owner must report the change within 10 working days of acquiring the vehicle, otherwise a fine may follow.
What you need for the transfer
- both parts of the registration certificate (small and large technical certificate),
- proof of acquisition, most often the purchase contract,
- ID (for companies, an extract from the commercial register),
- confirmation of valid compulsory liability insurance for the new operator,
- a valid registration inspection, if the office requires it,
- a power of attorney, if someone else acts on your behalf.
How much the transfer costs
The administrative fee for a change of owner of a passenger car is CZK 800. If you prefer not to go to the office yourself, the price of our brokerage service is added.
How we can help
We check the documents, arrange compulsory liability insurance and handle the transfer under power of attorney, so you do not have to spend time at the office. More on the Ownership transfer page. Write or call us – we confirm the price in advance.
